Google Business Profile

Wednesday, August 23, 2023

A Google My Business profile (GMB) is a great free tool to promote your business online. It lets you appear in local search results, allows potential customers to learn more about you before they visit, and gives them confidence that you're legitimate. In this article, we'll explain how to create a GMB profile and make sure it looks good on Google's search results page.

Showing up in local search results

If a person searches for a business by name, Google shows its listing among the results. This is called local search and it's one of the most common uses of Google My Business.

You'll want to make sure your business is eligible for local results on Google Search and Maps with a verified listing in the Google My Business dashboard. To do this:

  • Sign into your Gmail account, or create one if you don't already have one.
  • Click "Add" at the top of any screen and select "Business." This will take you to the main dashboard where you can add or manage locations for all of your businesses from one place.
  • Enter information about each location like address, phone number, and hours of operation.
  • Upload photos so people know what they're getting when they visit.
  • Create an ad using words that describe what type of products/services are offered at each location—this will help potential customers find what they're looking for faster!
  • Click Done.

Even if you don't have a physical address, your business can be listed online for others to find.

You'll see a message that says Google will review your business and make sure it meets their standards before it goes live. If all goes well, expect to see your listing in 3-7 days!

Showing up in map packs

A Google business profile can help your physical or online store appear in the map pack for relevant searches (e.g., "your business near me").

A map pack is an interactive map on your mobile phone used for providing information about businesses at a certain location. The map pack uses your business address and location to display a pin on the map. If you don't have a physical address, Google will use your website's contact information to find your business. You can also add custom markers for your location and label them with text like "Phone Number" or "Address" as well as hours of operation and more.

Customer feedback

Google My Business reviews can help you understand what customers think. In addition to providing feedback on your products or services, customers may also give you tips and suggestions for improving them.

Reviews are a great way to find out what people like about your business, but they can also help when it comes time to attract new customers too!

If you see several reviews that have the same complaint or issue, don’t ignore them! You need to address these issues head-on if you want to keep your customers happy.

Insights on user interactions.

Google My Business can also track how many people are clicking your business website via the Maps app, how often people call your business from the app, and how many people are using the Maps app to get directions to your business. You can also use it to see which of your locations are getting more attention—and why they're doing so well. Google My Business is also used to check on the accuracy of your business listings and the Maps app. If you’ve been using Google Maps for some time, this is especially important because it can help you identify any inaccuracies in your listings that could cause problems for your business. For example, if you have an incorrect phone number listed on Google, customers might call a different company instead of yours.

A Google My Business profile is a wonderful free tool that helps you create a presence online. It's also a great way to build your online reputation, and increase sales. As you can see, there are many reasons why it's important to have a Google My Business profile. The good news is that you don't have to be an expert in order to create an effective and attractive Google My Business profile. In fact, with the right tools and advice, it can be a simple process.
